Barry started Maples for all Seasons, because, 21 years ago there was very limited information on Japanese Maples. The more he learned about them, the more he fell in love with them. After much trial and errors, much guidance from Masters in both Japan and England, he knew there was a need for Maples for all Seasons. His goal is to educate from the casual gardener to the serious collector to the landscape professional on the correct cultivar, the care and pruning of Japanese Maples. The more educated the gardener has, the healthier the Japanese Maple. We opened in Olympia, WA last year, we maintain our presence in Northern CA and are now open in Eagle, ID. We conduct classes, seminars, tours at all three locations. Let us not forget that Japanese Maples are both valuable from an aesthetic as well as a financial point of view.
Barry regularly conducts classes as “The Maple Guy” teaching about gardening with Japanese Maples, the care and pruning of the Japanese maples as well as discussing the four seasons of the Japanese Maples. Being an expert on Japanese Maples as well as an Arborist, specializing in Japanese Maples, including the care, planting and pruning, Barry has been on Radio, most recently Ciscoe Morris’ “Gardening with Ciscoe” on 97.3 KIRO FM, Seattle, WA; Bob Tanem’s “In the Garden” on KSFO, 560AM, San Francisco, CA; Farmer Fred, Fred Hoffman’s “ Garden Show" on NewsTalk 1530AM KFBK in Sacramento, CA and does regular appearances at local Garden Clubs, Home and Garden Shows, Landscape and Garden Shows, and Nurseries throughout the United States. Barry is also a visiting instructor at Heather Farms, Walnut Creek, CA. He is also now a Blogger. Find him at www.itsmapletime.weebly.com.
